How do I transfer my domain to QMS?

1) On Friday After 5:00 PM - Please use the DNS information that we sent to you in an email to transfer the domain to our servers.

You will need to do the following
Login to your registrar (Network Solutions or GoDaddy, Etc.)
Go to the 'Modify Your DNS' section
Modify the primary and secondary DNS settings for the selected domain to the settings that you received in your email from QMS.
Note:You may get all kinds of scary messages stating that your email and Web site won't work if you proceed, ignore these and proceed anyway. Important--->> Once you have made these modifications, please send us an email to let us know that the transfer has been initiated so that we can complete the transfer on our end.

Note: We typically perform domain transfers like this after 5:00 PM on a Friday because it can take up to 48 hours for the changes to propagate throughout the Internet. Making the change on Friday after 5:00 PM reduces downtime and gives us the best opportunity to have everything up and running again on Monday morning, in the unlikely event that something unexpected happens during the transfer.

2) After The Transfer Has Been Initiated - Please do not make any changes to your Web site or email accounts
Once the domain transfer has been initiated, your Web site and email may become less stable for the next 24-48 hours. While you will not lose any email during the transfer, you may not have ready access to it during this time. Your Web site may also display normally one minute and then abnormally the next, this is normal behavior and to be expected during the transfer period. Because of this instability you should not make any changes to your Web site or email accounts during this transition.

3) On Monday After A Successful Domain Transfer - Please have the users change their passwords online
Since the email accounts were re-created and we do not know the passwords of the accounts, we need to reset the passwords for each email account. These new passwords were emailed to you from QMS, and may not be as easy to remember as they could be. Therefore, we recommend that each user login to their email account using the Web Interface and change their password promptly. Instructions have been emailed to you and are also available on this Web site.
Be sure to change your password in Outlook to the new password for your new account.
